Re:NGC 1784
NGC 1784 (SBc, 1"~140 pc, I=53.2^deg^)
The ellipticity profile shows one maximum (e_max_=0.68 at a=26") near the end
of the large-scale bar. The PA is well constant (between 91 and 99^deg^) along
the bar.

The bar in NGC 1784 is well developed.
Dust lanes and patches exist in the bar; their
description would be similar to the paragraphs
on NGC 4304 and NGC 6907 two panels back.
The two, very tightly wound inner arms
spring from the ends of the well-defined bar and
overlap, forming a nearly complete inner ring.
The continuation of these arms results in an
outer pattern of low-surface-brightness spiral
fragments that cannot be individually traced
over more than about a quarter revolution each.
The redshift is v_o = 2254 km/s. The HII
regions are unresolved.

Re:NGC 1784
Very small, bright nucleus
in a narrow bar with dark markings.
Many knotty arms.
(r): 1.3 arcmin x 0.7 arcmin.
Lick 13 dimensions for (r) only.
