NGC 4602. Many H I studies have been completed on this galaxy with the
most recent being by Richter & Huchtmeier (1987) and Bottinelli et
al. (1984). NGC 4602 has also been studied as part of a sample on
large-scale outflows in edge-on Seyferts by Colbert et al. (1996).

NGC 4602: all values of the PA are in rough agreement, except for
the value given by Mathewson & Ford (1996), which by eyeball
estimate does not look very reasonable. We adopt an average value
of our two methods and both catalogs, which also agrees with
RC3 (1991) and Danver (1942).

Much of the emission in our H{alpha} + [N II] image (Fig. 1i) comes from a ring
structure in the disk (Buta & de Vaucouleurs 1983), but no emission is evident
along the minor axis.

We show a contour map of the radio emission from NGC 4602 in Figure 1i. The
nuclear source is quite weak, and most of the emission comes from sources in
the galaxy disk.

The spiral pattern of multiple outer arms
fed by two major arms which start near the
center is similar to that of the other three galaxies
on this page. The high inclination of NGC 4602
obscures the details of the pattern near the
center, but two thin dust lanes emerge from the
center in a manner similar to the straight lanes
along the bar in SBb and SBbc galaxies, suggesting
here a mild bar.
The redshift is v_o = 2347 km/s.

Small, bright nucleus. Pseudo (r): 0.6 arcmin x 0.25? arcmin. Several knotty,
branching arms with dark lanes.
Dimensions in HA 88,2 from Helwan should read: 3.0 arcmin x 0.5 arcmin.
Lund 10, Lund 9 and Heidelberg Veroff. Vol. 9, 1926 dimensions are for the
bright part only.
Pair with IC 0804 at about 10 arcmin.

In a group with MCG -01-32-034. In MCG -01-30-032 [sic] there is a
companion (?) 18 mag E? north at {rho} = 2.0 arcmin. {omega} = 69
