NGC 4951, with v_o = 993 km/s, may form
a physical pair with NGC 4941 (Sab; panel 117),
whose redshift is v_o = 878 km/s. The angular
separation of the pair is 60'. At a redshift
distance of 19 Mpc the projected linear separation
is 332 kpc, or about one-third the diameter of
the Local Group.
Small, bright nucleus. Pseudo (r): 0.6 arcmin x 0.25 arcmin, with dark lanes.
There is a faint star on (r) at 8 arcsec from nucleus. Several filamentary
branching arms. Poorly resolved.
Lick 13 major dimensions: (1.2 arcmin) are for the bright part only.
According to vB - Sn*. Photo: PASP 43, 371.
Quite irregular; 1.2' long; binuclear.
