The spiral pattern in the inner disk of
NGC 5134 is dominated by dust lanes, as in NGC 5806.
Copious recent star formation is evidently
occurring in the outer disk near its edge,
evidenced from the many HII regions that define
the spiral pattern there. The HII regions are
unresolved at the 1" level. The redshift of
NGC 5134 is v_o = 1027 km/s.
Overexposed center (with short bar?), very knotty (r): 1.5 x 0.65.
Very faint (R): 2.8 x 2.7.
