Notes for object NGC 6048

6 note(s) found in NED.

1. 2002AJ....124..675C
Re:UGC 10124
Very large radio source. The NVSS flux may be too low.

2. 2001A&A...370..409L
Re:4C +70.19
J1557+706 (4C+70.19): it presents an FR I type morphology in the N-S
direction. The northern jet bends by 180^deg^ towards the south, becoming
diffuse and extended beyond the bend. The southern jet ends in an extended
lobe-like region. At 4.9 GHz we only detect a compact core and the
beginning of two rather symmetric jets, separated from the core by
symmetric gaps.

Re:S5 1557+70
1557+708: The optical spectrum and redshift was given in Stickel et al.(1993a).
The redshift has also been listed by Herbig & Readhead (1992) and Xu et al.
(1994). Because no radio flux and spectral index ware tabulated in the original
S5 catalogue (Kuhr et al. 1981b), these values have been taken from the S4
catalogue (Pauliny-Toth et al. 1978)

Re:4C +70.19
1557+708
This radio source is identified with NGC 6048 and its spectrum shows
galaxian absorption lines at a redshift of z = 0.025.
