Four principal arms can be traced in
NGC 6699, found by counting the number of arm
crossings in a cut across the major axis of the
image. The numerous HII regions in each arm are
like beads on a string, similar to the two-arm
pattern in M51 (panels 172, 177).
The redshift is v_o = 3357 km/s.
Overexposed center. Double star 1.1 south-preceding-preceding.
Possible (r): 0.4 x 0.4.
Small, bright nucleus.
