The thin arms in NGC 6943, their tight
pitch angle, the moderate star formation in them,
and the large central bulge with no recent star
formation are the standard criteria for the Sb
classification. NGC 6943 is the prototypical
example of a normal Sb in the middle of the Sb
Overexposed center, patchy arms.
Small, bright nucleus. Poorly resolved.
