NGC 7213 Group

IC 5181 is a member of the loose NGC 7213
Group, containing about seven members at a
mean redshift of
1975b). It forms a pair with NGC 7232A (Sc,
nearly on edge) at 8.1' separation at a projected
linear separation of 90 kpc.
The presence of the flattened thick disk,
evident in the insert, is the S0 characteristic.
Overexposed bulge, very bright lens.
Overexposed center, similar to NGC 7166 in same field. Several faint companions
near south. ESO/Upps position is correct.

Pair with NGC 7232A at 8.1 arcmin.
Note correction to HA 88, 2 coordinates (Mt. Stromlo Mem. 13),
Extremely bright nucleus. Bright, smooth edge-on lens: 1.6 arcmin x 0.4 arcmin.
Non-interacting pair with NGC 7232A at 8.1 arcmin.
