NGC 3285 is a member of the Hydra I Cluster (Richter, Materne,
and Huchtmeier 1982) at a redshift of v_o = 3049 km/s, as listed in
the RSA2. The mean redshift of the cluster is = 3419 km/s, with
a dispersion of 681 km/s (Richter and Huchtmeier 1983).
The multiple-armed spiral lanes are defined principally by the
dust.
