NGC 5545/4 consists of an Sbc galaxy projected against an SB0/a galaxy.
This pair was analyzed by Domingue et al. (1999), and the results are
included for completeness in Table 3. Domingue et al. (1999) quote
apparent extinctions, so we divided them by the axial ratio (a/b = 2.86)
of NGC 5545 to produce face-on-corrected values.

Colliding or strongly interacting pair with NGC 5545 at 0.6 arcmin.

Pair with NGC 5545 at 0.6 arcmin. NGC 5544 is the southwest component.

NGC 5544 and NGC 5545
Two small nebulae 0.5' apart in p.a. 75^deg^. 5544 is 0.3' in diameter, with a
bright stellar nucleus; no spiral structure apparent. 5545 is a spiral 1' x 0.2'
in p.a. 70^deg^, with a small faint nucleus. Though nearly in line with the
major axis of 5545, it does not appear that 5544 is physically connected with
it. 10 s.n.
