Re:NGC 7205
NGC 7205.---SABb (type example---see Fig. 3e): Evidence for weak a bar.
Grand-design spiral pattern that makes at least a full winding. Arm
that originates from the SW side of the bulge is more clearly defined.
Both arms show evidence of bifurcation/rattiness after about 180deg.

The central region (the inner disk plus
bulge) of NGC 7205 is smooth. The arm pattern
starts tangent to the rim of the inner disk. The
largest HII regions in the thick,
high-surface-brightness arms resolve at about 3"
diameter. The redshift of NGC 7205 is v_o = 1379 km/s.

Re:NGC 7205
Here again, a case of optical asymmetry is even more pronounced in the
H{alpha} distribution. The spiral arms in NGC 7205 are becoming quite
broad and slightly disorganized, and yet the H II regions do outline this
structure best. Although each of the arms traverses at least half a full
rotation, their H II regions in the north and eastern sectors are
significantly more luminous than those in the south and the west. Such
asymmetric azimuthal distributions of H{alpha} must raise questions about
the significance of the exponential H{alpha} radial profiles shown by
Kennicutt (1989), and their correlation with the broad-band disk scale
lengths. We are reinvestigating this aspect using these images and
corresponding broad-band images (Ryder & Dopita 1993a). Each of the most
active star-forming regions have distinct counterparts in the red
continuum image, implying that these sites have been active for some time
longer than the typical lifetime of ~10^7^ yr for an individual H II
region.

Re:NGC 7205
Small, bright diffuse nucleus. 2 main, massive, bright, knotty arms with dark
lanes and emission-line objects.
Non-interacting pair with with NGC 7205A at 8.5 arcmin preceding.
