1975ApJ...195..587W Nuclear Magnitudes for Galaxies in the Coma and Perseus Clusters D.W. Weedman Dyer Observatory Received 1974 June 11 Abstract Multiaperture BV photometry is presented for 72 galaxies in the Coma Cluster and 44 galaxies in the Perseus Cluster using apertures from 4.1 to 17.0 arcsec in diameter. Apparent correlations similar to those reported by Tifft are found between the galactic nuclear magnitudes and the galaxy redshifts in the Coma cluster but not in the Perseus cluster. We do not presently conclude that the data provide confirming evidence for noncosmological redshifts in these clusters. However it is found that either the absolute nuclear magnitudes of the Perseus cluster galaxies are about one mag brighter than those of Coma or that the Coma cluster is more distant relative to Perseus than its redshift implies.
