1988AJ.....95..651T REDSHIFT STUDIES OF LARGE-SCALE STRUCTURE. I. THE SOUTH COMA VOID REGION. WILLIAM G. TIFFT Steward Observatory, University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona 85721 STEPHEN A. GREGORY Institute for Astrophysics and the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87131 Received 31 July 1987; revised 6 November 1987 ABSTRACT This paper is the first of a series of Steward Observatory redshift surveys aimed at relatively faint galaxy samples covering small areas of the sky of known importance for large-scale-structure programs. This sample of 92 galaxies includes the region 12^h^30^m^ <= {alpha} <= 13^h^30^m^, 18^deg^ <= {delta} <= 26^deg^, complete to m_p_ <= 15.7. We find no additional galaxies in the Coma void, and that the void is not well described as a "bubble." The surveyed supercluster regions appear to have a normal luminosity function.
