Turatto Osservatorio Astronomico di Padova, vicolo dell'Osservatorio, 5, I-35122 Padova, Italy Received February 23, accepted July 13, 1989 Abstract. Photometric and spectroscopic observations of three supernovae, 1986E in NGC 4302, 1987D in MCG + 00-32-01 (UGC 7370) and 1987F in NGC 4615, were carried out at Asiago and ESO-La Silla Observatories. SN 1986E has been classified as type II linear from its light curve. The position of the SN with respect to its parent galaxy strengthens previous suggestions that SN II linear have a progenitor of lower mass than the typical value assumed for SN lI plateau. SN 1987D belongs to the SN I-a class, with a low expansion velocity and bright absolute magnitude. The rate of the photometric decline at late stages well agrees with the value found by Barbon et al. (1984) on other SN I. SN 1987F, while exhibiting at early stages the photometric behaviour of a SN II plateau, presents several spectral peculiarities and a relatively high luminosity at late time. This confirms that SN II (in particular SN II plateau) show a higher degree of individuality than other SN types. Key words: supernovae: 1986E, 1987D, 1987F - spectroscopy - photometry
