Ikonnikova Sternberg State Astronomical Institute, Universitetskii pr. 13, SU-1 19899 Moscow, USSR Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory, SU-383762 Georgia, USSR Received November 2, 1989; accepted January 12, 1990 Abstract. Photographic, photoelectric and spectroscopic observations are reported for two recent supernovae, 1989 A and 1989 B. Both objects are Type Ia supernovae with quite typical light curves and spectral properties. The parameters of light curves, absolute magnitudes at maximum light, wavelengths of emission and absorption features and corresponding expansion velocities are derived. Key words: supernovae: 1989 A, 1989 B - photometry - spectroscopy
