1991AJ....101...57W STUDIES OF NEARBY POOR CLUSTERS: A3574 AND S753 C. N. A. WILLMER, P. FOCARDI, R. CHAN, P. S. PILLIGRINI AND L. NICOLACI DA COSTA Departmento de Astronomia, CNPq/ Observatorio Nacional, Rua General Jose Cristino 77,20921 Sao Cristovao, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Received 8 May 1990; revised 7 August 1990 ABSTRACT We present a study on two clusters belonging to the Centaurus concentration of galaxies, which are about 12 Mpc (H_0_ = 100 km s^-1^ Mpc^-1^) away from the Centaurus cluster. Photographic photometry and radial velocities have been obtained for galaxies in two square fields centered on the brightest members of each cluster. We have derived dynamical parameters for both clusters, and found that they have masses of the order of 1.5 X 10^14^ M_sun_, ranking them among the most massive components of the concentration after the Centaurus cluster. No evidence of substructure has been detected in either cluster. These clusters are very near to each other, being separated by about 3.3 Mpc projected on the sky. However, the solution of a two-body linear orbit indicates they do not form a bound system, but the result is marginal.
