VETTOLANI Istituto di Radioastronomia del CNR, Via Irnerio 46,1-40126, Bologna, Italy Received 26 July 1991; revised 10 September 1991 ABSTRACT We report 406 redshifts for galaxies in the northern galactic hemisphere, south of {delta} = 0^deg^. A substantial fraction of the observed galaxies are located in the equatorial zone -17.5^deg^<={delta}<=0^deg^. By combining these new data with those available in the literature it is possible to extend the original CfA redshift survey of galaxies brighter than m_B(0)_ = 14.5 to b = 30^deg^, south of {delta} = 0^deg^. New data taken at lower galactic latitudes also contribute to the existing surveys of the Hydra-Centaurus complex.
