1992ApJS...79..157F H I OBSERVATIONS OF GALAXIES IN THE HERCULES SUPERCLUSTER. II. ADDITIONAL UGC GALAXIES AND GALAXIES IN SELECTED CGCG FIELDS WOLFRAM FREUDLING National Astronomy and Ionosphere Center, Arecibo Observatory, P.O. Box 995, Arecibo, Puerto Rico 00613 MARTHA P. HAYNES National Astronomy and Ionosphere Center and Center for Radiophysics and Space Research, Cornell University, Space Sciences Building, Ithaca, NY 14853 RICCARDO GIOVANELLI National Astronomy and Ionosphere Center and Center for Radiophysics and Space Research, Cornell University, Space Sciences Building, Ithaca, NY 14853 Received 1991 June 25; accepted 1991 August 28 ABSTRACT The second installment of a HI redshift survey in the region of the Hercules supercluster is presented. This part of the survey presents 218 H I spectra of galaxies selected from the UGC which extends the previously begun survey of UGC galaxies in that region. In addition, spectra of 136 galaxies from selected CGCG fields are given. The CGCG fields were chosen to cover the projected position of the Hercules void. Measured H I parameters from the spectra are given. This survey was conducted for application of the Tully-Fisher relation to search for streaming motion around the void in front of the supercluster. The selection effects affecting such a search are discussed in detail. Subject headings: cosmology: observations - galaxies: distances and redshifts - radio. lines: atomic - surveys
