1994AJ....108...24G RADIO CONTINUUM SURVEY OF THE COMA/A1367 SUPERCLUSTER V. THE LUMINOSITY FUNCTION OF A1367 GIUSEPPE GAVAZZI AND ALESSANDRA CONTURSI Osservatorio di Brera, via Brera, 28, 20121 Milano, Italy Electronic mail: gavazzi@bach.mi.astro.it Received 1993 November 8; revised 1994 March 10 ABSTRACT Radio continuum observation of the cluster of galaxies A1367 obtained at 1.4 GHz with the VLA in various configurations are combined in this work to produce a radio map of the central region of the cluster with an rms noise of 0.13 mJy. Using a digitized plate of the region on which all spiral+Irr galaxies with B <18.0 are selected, we find that 19 radio sources are identified with late-type galaxies, 9 of which were previously unknown. By determining the frequency distribution of the radio/optical and radio/IR ratio of galaxies in A1367 we confirm previous claims that spiral galaxies with a high radio/optical ratio in this cluster are ~10 times more frequent than in a reference sample of "field" galaxies of similar morphological type and similar distance.
