1996ApJS..102..309M AN EMISSION-LINE IMAGING SURVEY OF EARLY-TYPE SEYFERT GALAXIES. I. THE OBSERVATIONS JOHN S. MULCHAEY AND ANDREW S. WILSON Astronomy Department, University of Maryland; and Space Telescope Science Institute, 3700 San Martin Drive, Baltimore, MD 21218 AND ZLATAN TSVETANOV Department of Physics and Astronomy, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD 21218 Received 1995 May 24; accepted 1995 August 4 ABSTRACT Flux-calibrated images in the lines of [O III] {lambda}5007 and H{alpha} + [N II] {lambda}{lambda}6548, 6583 and the nearby continuum are presented for 57 Seyfert galaxies of early morphological type. This sample includes all known Seyfert galaxies with apparent magnitude m_v_ <= 14.5 and recessional velocity cz < 7000 km s^-1^ in Hubble types E, S0, and S0/a. Images are also presented for an additional 26 galaxies with m_v_ > 14.5, cz > 7000 km s^-1^, and/or an uncertain classification as a Seyfert galaxy. The ratio of the [O III] {lambda}5007 to the H{alpha} + [N II] image has been obtained for each galaxy with extended emission to study the spatial variation of the gaseous excitation.
