1997UITVi.U..K....C UV/Visible Sky Gallery Cheng, K.-P., Collins, N., Angione, R., Talbert, F., Hintzen, P., Smith, E.P., Stecher, T., and the UIT Team This CD-ROM contains ultraviolet (UV) images of 23 astronomical objects (galaxies, cluster of galaxies, globular clusters, associations of stars, supernova remnants, planetary nebulae, and selected fields of the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds) observed by the Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope (UIT) during the ASTRO-1 Space Shuttle Mission. UIT is a 38-cm f/9 Ritchey-Chretien telescope which uses photographic film. The design and performance of UIT are described in detail in Stecher et al. 1992, Ap.J.Letters 395, L1. We also include the wide field direct CCD optical images of these UIT targets obtained at Kitt Peak, Cerro Tololo, and Mount Laguna Observatories on this CD.
