1999A&A...349..406H ISO far-infrared observations of rich galaxy clusters. I. Abell 2670. HANSEN L., JORGENSEN H.E., NORGAARD-NIELSEN H.U., PEDERSEN K., GOUDFROOIJ P., LINDEN-VORNLE M.J.D. Received 7 June 1999/Accepted 19 July 1999 Abstract: As part of an investigation of far-infrared emission from rich galaxy clusters the central part of Abell 2670 has been mapped with ISO at 605m, 1005m, 1355m, and 2005m using the PHT-C camera. Point sources detected in the field have infrared fluxes comparable to normal spirals at the cluster distance. Probable optical counterparts are cluster galaxies with various characteristics such as blue colour, H{alpha} emission, or double nuclei. One source is extended which could possibly be emission from intracluster dust in debris from spiral galaxies. Keywords: galaxies: clusters: individual: Abell 2670 - infrared: galaxies
