5. POPULATIONS IN LOCAL GROUP GALAXIES

In this section, each member of the Local Group is discussed in turn, following the order in Table 1, which is approximately in decreasing order of luminosity. (It is approximate because in some cases the luminosities are still, not well determined.) Not included are a few objects for which there is very little information or whose membership in the Local Group is still doubtful.
