6. CONCLUSION

The Local Group has a wide variety of population types among its members. Although the early picture of two population types proposed by Baade can very roughly divide the members into two lists, we now know that there are more than just two variables involved in determining a galaxy's population. The variety provided us by nature, even within our Local Group, will keep us working for some time before all the factors are separated out and understood.
