NGC 5713. - Twelve minutes east of NGC 5713 is NGC 5719 which de Vaucouleurs and de Vaucouleurs (1964) describe as having strong dark lanes whose outer parts are distorted by interaction with NGC 5713.

NGC 5713, classified as an SI-aI by Morgan (1958), certainly gives the appearance of a "distorted spiral." A kinematical study of both galaxies would be most interesting.
