8d. Galaxies with Numerous Apparent Companions

AM 1107_371

The remainder of the Category is illustrated with examples of galaxies having three or more apparent companions. The illustrations are arranged to show progressively larger numbers of apparent companions until, at the end of this Category, there are large numbers or groups of apparent companions around each central galaxy. Only redshift studies can give more information with which to study the physical association of each of these companions and to provide useful probes of the outer halos of galaxies.
