NGC 1784. - Although the velocity of the galaxy was not known, the
detection of the HII regions through the
6607 filter only indicates a
velocity of the order of +3000 km s-1. The inner "bar" of
this galaxy
has heavy obscuration to the west of the nucleus but the dust does not
appear to define a bar. The outer HII regions are associated with
segments of spiral arcs.
