NGC 3627. - According to Hubble (1943) the eastern side of this galaxy is the "near side" and the north side is approaching, which clearly describes a trailing-arm spiral. The southern arm is well delineated by the HII regions along the outside edge of the dust lane; the northern arm shows a broad cluster of HII regions.
