May 2026 Release Highlights

  • 331K sources from the literature were ingested, including 293K cross-matches with NED objects and 40K new objects, increasing NED objects with redshifts by 55K.
  • 12,952 galaxies and spectroscopic redshifts from Dwarf Galaxies with Radio-excess Active Galactic Nuclei in the Very Large Array Sky Survey (Eberhard et al. 2025)
  • A new version of the Local Volume Sample (NED-LVS) includes for the first time fiducial angular diameters for galaxies (see feature box on the right).
  • New APIs have been released that improves programmatic access to NED data and services. See the notice above concerning deprecated legacy web APIs.
  • A new implementation of the interface to Search for Objects By Parameters is layered on the IVOA Table Access Protocol (TAP) in a step toward simplifying direct database access via ADQL (SQL) queries in a future release.
