| Abstract | Observations of 515 galaxies have been made at frequencies of 750 and 1400 Mc/sec. Radio emission was detected from 88 of them. The observations are essentially complete for all galaxies in the Shapley-Ames catalogue north of = - ', to a limiting photographic magnitude of 11.2 and limiting radio flux densities of 0.5 X 10-26 W (cps)-' and 0.3 X 10-26 W (cps)-2 at 750 and 1400 Mc/sec, respectively.
